1 Method 1: AirPrint (Recommended)
Most Canon PIXMA and MAXIFY printers support Apple AirPrint - no app needed!
Steps:
- Connect iPhone and Canon to same WiFi network
- Open the photo, document, or webpage
- Tap the Share button
- Scroll and tap Print
- Tap Select Printer
- Choose your Canon (shows as "Canon [model]")
- Set copies, pages, color options
- Tap Print
2 Method 2: Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY App
Setup:
- Download Canon PRINT from App Store
- Open app, tap Add Printer
- Ensure printer is on and connected to WiFi
- App finds your Canon - tap to add
To Print:
- Open Canon PRINT app
- Select Photo Print or Document Print
- Choose photos/files
- Adjust settings (paper size, quality, copies)
- Tap Print
Canon PRINT Features: Scan to iPhone, copy documents, print from cloud (Google Drive, Dropbox), creative templates, photo collages.
3 Method 3: Wireless Direct (No Router)
Print without a WiFi router using Canon's Wireless Direct mode.
Steps:
- On Canon, press Menu > LAN Settings > Wireless Direct
- Enable Wireless Direct
- Note the SSID and password displayed
- On iPhone: Settings > WiFi
- Connect to Canon_ij_[model] or similar
- Enter password from printer
- Print via Share > Print
Troubleshooting
Canon Not Showing in AirPrint
- Verify both on same WiFi (print network page from Canon)
- Restart Canon printer
- On iPhone: Settings > WiFi > (i) > check same network
- Disable VPN or firewall apps
- Try Canon PRINT app instead
Print Failed or Stuck
- Check Canon has paper and ink
- Clear any paper jams
- Turn printer off, wait 30 seconds, turn on
- Try printing from Canon PRINT app
